This past weekend, we went to a part of D.C. I’d never heard of: Shaw. It’s this upcoming neighborhood I talked about in my weekly update last Sunday. So today, I want to share with you my pictures and experiences from that day.
Today was my first day as an intern for C-SPAN. Our orientation started at 9.00 AM. There was a power outage in my neighborhood and the first bus didn’t show up. So I ended up taking the next bus and being 10 minutes late on my first day. Talk about a stressy morning! The orientation went great and we got to meet all these amazing people working at C-SPAN. I’ll be working for The Washington Journal, the morning show.
Tomorrow is my first real day and I can’t wait! I got my very own desk and it’s right next to the lunchroom so I’m a very happy girl. When I opened one of my desk drawers, I found this note from a previous intern. It absolutely made my day, so I’m planning to do the same when I leave this place!
Also, excuse my weird face in that mirror-selfie. I wanted to take a picture of my outfit but it was 6.30 AM and I honestly didn’t know what to do with my face.
