New In: The Harry Potter Books

October 19, 2016

harrypotterbooks1I finally did it. I bought the first 3 Harry Potter books. I never really had the burning desire to read these books, but while I was in Salt Lake City, Freeform had this Harry Potter Marathon and the movies had all of the deleted scenes still in them. Immediately, I started thinking about how there’s so much stuff left out in the movies.

I wanted to know the entire story, so I decided to start reading the books. I have now finished the first book and I absolutely love it! I can’t believe I waited this long to start reading the books. So to any of you out there who are not sure whether they should read the books or not, just read the first one and you will adore it!

When The Last Chapter Ends…

June 9, 2016

BooksYesterday, I finally finished the last book in the Divergent series. I started reading the series in January, which probably makes me the last person ever to start reading these books. But just in case, I won’t give anything away so don’t worry about spoilers! Every time I finish a series, I feel a little sad. I don’t know if that’s just me or if it occurs to everyone who loves reading. I just feel like I am living the stories and all of a sudden, they just end.

The next book I’m reading is Looking for Alaska by John Green, which I got for my birthday. I’ve read The Fault in Our Stars and Paper Towns and absolutely loved them, so I’m pretty excited about this one. At the beginning of the year, I told myself I was going to read at least 6 books in 2016, and Looking for Alaska is the fourth book on that list! The other two books I desperately want to read this year are See Me by Nicholas Sparks and 24 Days by Guillaume Musso.

What are you reading?

Goals for 2016

February 3, 2016

UntitledI’m normally not one to make new year’s resolutions because I can never truly stick to them! So I decided to make a bucket list! Here are 10 things on my bucket list for 2016!

1. Visit the Van Gogh museum (DONE). Van Gogh’s story is so special and ever since I watched the Doctor Who episode about Van Gogh (I was about 16), I wanted to visit the museum and learn more about his life and the stories behind his painting!

2. Visit the Anne Frank House. The same goes for the Anne Frank House. Ever since I read the diary of Anne Frank, I wanted to see the place where she lived IRL.

3. Go backpacking in Ireland (DONE, sort of). Ireland is supposed to be an amazing country for backpacking and since I have a lot of time to kill this summer, this seemed like an amazing way to explore new parts of the world!

4. Read at least 6 books (DONE). I love reading, so this shouldn’t be that hard! The first three books I’ll be reading are the Divergent-books! Read about my book-bucket-list here!

5. Travel somewhere alone (DONE). I feel like traveling alone is an ideal way to get to know yourself and the world a whole lot better!

6. Exercise more (DONE, sort of). I know, everyone puts this on their bucket lists! But I’ve been exercising every day for about a week now and it does really make me feel better!

7. Visit Amsterdam (DONE). Holland is literally next to Belgium, but I’ve never been to Amsterdam!

8. Get out of my comfort zone (DONE, but can be improved). I am pretty good at staying within my comfort zone! So that needs to change because apparently “live begins outside of your comfort zone”.

9. See at least 3 concerts (DONE). I’m already going to see Justin Bieber in November, which is something I never thought I would ever do! Two more to go!

10. Go on a road trip with friends. Because I think it’s a lot of fun!

7 Books on my Wishlist

January 31, 2016

DSC_0037 DSC_0047I am looking to buy new books to read and so far, I have 7 on my to-read-list already! First of all, I really want to read the Divergent-series. I am probably the last person on the planet to read these books, but I finally ordered the books and I am now reading the first one. So far, I really like it! Another book I want to read in 2016 is Eleanor & Park. I’ve heard so many people talking about that book and it definitely intrigued me. Other must reads on my 2016-list are Looking For Alaska by John Green, See Me by Nicholas Sparks and 24 Days by Guillaume Musso. All three of these authors are amazing and I keep going back to their books!

Q: which books do you recommend?

A Little Bit Of Buddha

January 21, 2016

DSC_0492 DSC_0500I got this book, “A Little Bit of Buddha”, for Christmas and I love it so much! It’s basically a beginner’s guide to Buddhism and the life of the Buddha! I’ve always loved the Buddhist values and way of living, so I wanted to know a little bit more about that specific culture. Every topic in this book is written in a way that makes it very easy to understand! You can get this book on websites like, Barnes & Noble and Amazon! So if you want to learn about a different culture, or Buddhism in particular, I highly recommend this book!
