#ProjectSelfLove + My Favorite Breakfast Smoothies

Two weeks ago, I wrote about #ProjectSelfLove. Today, I’m giving you an update about how I’ve been doing, what I’ve been doing and I’m sharing with you my favorite breakfast smoothies!

What I’ve done so far:

I’m halfway through #ProjectSelfLove. I’ve been working out 5 days out of the 7. My workouts consist of 20 minutes cardio on the elliptical, 10 minutes of using weights to tone up and then 5 to 10 minutes of stretching and calming down. The workouts have been consistent up until this week. This past week was a really busy one at school so I didn’t really have a lot of time to work out. But starting this weekend, I’m back on my exercise routine.

I also went to see a nutritionist, because I was gaining weight and it made me feel like crap. So, I to wrote down what I ate for an entire week to help her find out what I’m doing wrong. And guess what… I thought I was eating quite healthy, but I was doing so many things wrong. Now, what she told me was for my body specifically, so this might not work for you. But, she told me that I can’t have processed foods, added sugars and deli meats.

She also told me that my meals should either be carbs and veggies or protein and veggies, meaning that I shouldn’t combine carbs and protein. So, I’ve been following that plan and it really isn’t even that hard! I’m having a good time experimenting with meals and I’m never hungry, which is great.

How I’ve been feeling:

A lot of people have been asking me how I’m doing. I’m good. I’m not where I want to be, but I’m on my way and I’m confident I’ll get there. The working out, even though it’s only 30 minutes a day, makes me feel happier and more secure about my body. Also, my legs and arms are starting to tone up a little bit so that’s good.

The nutrition plan I’m on is really helping me see how to eat wholesome and filling meals. I don’t feel like I’m on a diet, more like I’m living a healthier lifestyle which makes me feel good. So yeah, I’m not where I want to be, but I’m getting there.

My favorite breakfast smoothie recipes:

I’ve been drinking smoothies for breakfast. It’s really filling, it tastes amazing and it’s not heavy on my stomach (so no bloating). Here are my 2 breakfast smoothie recipes:

Banana – Strawberry green smoothie:

– 1 banana

– 8 strawberries (or 5 large strawberries)

– 2 tbsp. oats

– 1 handful of spinach (you won’t taste it but it’s a great add)

– 1/2 cup water and 3 ice cubes

– the juice of 1/2 lemon

Banana – Nectarine green smoothie:

– 1 banana

– 1 nectarine without the pit

– 2 tbsp. oats

– a handful of spinach

– 1/2 cup water and 3 ice cubes

– the juice of 1/2 lemon

Just add all the ingredients in a mixer or NutriBullet and mix away! Enjoy!
