Emilie In DC: Week 3

February 12, 2017

Week 3 is over, so it’s time for another recap of the week!

On Sunday night, we watched the Super Bowl. We had hot dogs and tortilla chips with guacamole and it was great. Since I don’t know that much about American Football, I decided to root for whatever team my brother liked. So, for the first quarter of the game, I was rooting for the Patriots. Then I realized my brother likes the Falcons, not the Patriots. Classic me…

On Monday night, we went to the gym for Pilates class. At first, I really didn’t like it. The class is divided in two parts. The first part is sort of a dance-class but it’s really tough. The second part is the actual Pilates. I hate the first part because I feel like a starfish who doesn’t know how to move. I love the second part, though. It makes me so relaxed afterwards.

On Tuesday and Wednesday mother nature got a little bit crazy. On Tuesday for example, it was 21°C at 5 PM. On Wednesday about the same. We also went to get lunch in Union Station. We went to this place called Chop’t. It’s basically like Subway, but for salads! So cool! I got a Mexicali Vegan salad: black beans, tomatoes, tortilla chips and avocado.

After two beautiful days, Thursday was really crazy. It was grey, rainy and windy. But, when I got home I noticed a package from Belgium. My mom sent me some Belgian chocolate that I can give to the people at C-SPAN on my birthday. I might have had a couple of Chokotoffs myself. For dinner, we went to the food court at the mall. I had a tomato-mozzarella panini and it came with a side of fruit. Yumm!

And then Friday rolled around again. I know I’ve said it a million times but time flies over here. Next week, it’ll be a month of me living here. How crazy is that? Anyway, on Friday, my Amazon order arrived. I had ordered a Tascam DR-05 and some accessories. For school, I’m making a radio report about a World War II veteran here in Maryland. You’ll read about that later on!

On Friday night, we had a birthday party. Twelve 11-year old boys, pizza and the Lego Batman movie. And this amazing-looking cake! The Lego movie was actually pretty funny. The movie had a lot of fun cameo’s, so you should definitely go see it! Also, one of the kids at the party asked me who’s mom I was, so that happened.

On to week 4. Read about last week here!
