A Day in Amsterdam

December 28, 2016

Believe it or not but I had never been to Amsterdam before. Since it was on my 2016 bucket list, we ended up visiting Amsterdam yesterday.

First, we visited the Van Gogh Museum. Vincent Van Gogh is by far my favorite painter and I’ve had this huge interest in him and his work ever since junior year of high school. So, getting to know him and his paintings even better was an amazing way to end this year!

After visiting the museum, we went to get some lunch at ‘t Pakhuis. I ordered the Pakhuis burger but the only thing on that burger was onions. No lettuce, no ketchup, no pickles. Is that a common thing in the Netherlands or did they just forget to put the rest on there? I don’t know but what I do know is that they had the best fries.

Next, we did some shopping and we found this huge Primark store. It had just opened earlier in December and it had about 7 floors. Of course, it was packed with people who wanted to get a taste of their sale. We also went to a bookstore called Waterstones, where I got myself a Christmas present because sometimes live is all about treating yourself, am I right?
